First Lachy Hulme was rumored to be Nolan's choice for Joker at BOF. It is still an ongoing rumor that may have some truth to it. Now, WB's choice for Harvey Dent in the sequel is now in the rumor mill. www.batman-on-film.com/b5news.htmlTwo spot-on longtime sources of BOF have said that Liev Schreiber's name is being thrown around for the role of Harvey Dent. Liev's filmography includes the Scream films, The Sum of All Fears (with Morgan Freeman looking like the comic version of Lucius Fox), and the recent Manchurian Candidate where most people probably saw him. He looks like Tim Sale's Harvey, although not as much as Rufus Sewell, in my opinion. What do you guys think? Would you be happy if this was true and the WB went through with this?

MOD note:
I have turned this thread into the OFFICIAL Two-Face discussion thread. Please keep all Two-Face discussion (casting, character development, etc) in this thread.
I have done the same thing for the Joker, all other villians may be discussed in the other villian threads.
Thanks

Awesome...although Official has an I between the c and the a....
Well, since this is a Two-Face thread, I might as well do what I did with the Joker thread:
1. ORIGIN. Harvey should be a major character in part 2. I think that the origin will develop and the acid thing occurs toward the end. We catch a glimpse of Two-Face at the end, setting up for part 3: Batman versus Two-Face. As for the acid, Dent would have to be close to Maroni (or Falcone. Not Joker, though. I want a mobster to scar him. I don't want BATMAN 3 to be Joker vs. Two-Face, but rather Two-Face vs. the mob) for the acid to get to his face. There's this absurd pic from the seventies where the acid seems to travel 10 feet just to land on Harvey's face. Make it realistic. I wouldn't mind seeing it done differently from the courtroom origin as long as it's done realistically. You could have Maroni pour acid on a stressed-out Dent's face in an interrogation room or you could have a quick splash with Dent at least a foot from Maroni. The best way to do the latter was seen in (get this) Constantine. Seriously, Keanu blows down a mirror with the Holy Shotgun and splashes holy water on Gavin Rossdale's face. The result looked a lot like Two-Face.
2. PHYSICAL APPEARANCE. He should definitely have better scarring than what's seen in the comics. The comics simply make Two-Face look like he's got a different color skin on the other side (as well as the usual immense eyeball and no lips, but that's beside the point). The burns should be akin to Freddy Krueger or Darkman, IMO. As for the suit, I could care less if it's two-toned. If it is, then something simple like the one in BTAS would be my preference over the gaudy purple/tiger striped "pimp" suit from BF
3. PERSONALITY. INTENSE is the word here, although he's got to be calmer and more serious than the one in BF. He can laugh, but no Joker-like cackling or hyper hysterics, please. Leave that to Mr. J. Give him a sort of explosive personality where he can change his attitude and actions as easy and flipping his coin.
4. HOW DOES HE GO OUT? The standard "locked in Arkham" ending is fine with me, especially if he's in a place with freaks that he helped put in there. Kinda like why Constantine didn't want to go to Hell in the movie.
5.CASTING I always liked how he was a friend of Bruce Wayne. Heck, in the Batman Continues script I helped write, he was a childhood friend of Bruce. I'd say, make him only a couple years older than Bruce, but definitely be peers. IMO, he HAS to have this intense look as if he's nearly driven over the edge.
That said, I could see two men who could do Two-Face against Bale: 1. Rufus Sewell Simple summary: He's got the good looks for Harvey Dent, but his looks also show a darker man underneath. Even in his eyes...he's somewhat freaky. If he's your friend, you wouldn't want to piss him off or see him angry. When he finally becomes Two-Face, I could see Sewell placing the villian as tortured as well as evil. Check him out as the hero in Dark City, the conflicted protagonist in Dangerous Beauty (haven't seen it, but apparently, it's good for convincing people), and the evil villian in Bless the Child and A Knight's Tale.
2. Clive Owen Okay, I haven't praised this guy as much as Sewell, obviously. But this guy is awesome. I first thought "Meh" when I saw him in The Bourne Identity, but I found him to be quite strong in King Arthur. Even though that film wasn't great by any means, he did his best with the material and that counts. And he kicked some serious @$$ in Sin City. According to some other fans of him, Closer is the best film to see of him, where he goes from good guy to bad guy from time to time. He faked an American accent for Sin City and he'd probably do so again for this (although his Scottish accent is awesome). He's a little old, but like Sewell, he looks younger than he actually is.
Schreiber could make a good Two-Face, too, although he doesn't come across as intense, to me, as Sewell or Owen. I'd have to see more of him, though.

I think Liev Schrieber will be good choice for Harvey Dent/Two-Face but I prefer Nolan's Memento buddy Guy Pearce.

There are rumors around the net about Tom Cruise having a secret cameo as Harvey Dent. This explains how he and Katie Holmes met, and why they don't tell the media how they met.
I dont believe it, but it would be cool. Though I'd rather Liev, Denzel, Law, or Cusak.

**I can't see Tom Cruise as Harvey ,I can see Clive Owens ,I think he would be amazing!I heard Justin Timberlake was in the running for Two Face as well..that falls under the category of "what the..?" Tell me that is a misprint, because that would be the lamest move in the batman franchise history(and there have been many!!)Also ,I think Alec Baldwin would make a pretty damn good 2 face.In his "the Shadow"days Alec would have made the perfect Bruce Wayne!Great actor ,just needs the right role..Harvey DENT would be it.

Scary, but I too just read the JT rumor somewhere on movies .com. I hope it isn't true. Harvey Dent almost needs to be a carbon copy of Bruce Wayne, a reflection of who he may have become had is parents not been killed. An actor with similar attributes to Christians is a must. This would help make for a strong story with lots of material for BB 3. I personally don't see Justin Timberlake as part of the Nolan/Goyer vision.

There's no truth at all to the Timberlake for Dent rumor. We all know that Nolan will want an ACTOR for the role and not a baby faced pop singer with a ton of celebrity baggage and highly questionable, inexperienced "acting" talent.

Nah,Nolan and Timberlake just doesn't make sense.I think that Dent is very good as far as appearance is concerned,he DOES remind me a lot of Sal'es Harvey, especially in TLH,but I wouldn't be so sure that he could pull the acting parts off.Although I like him a lot as an actor,I just can't be sure of him. Sewell, now that was a choice I'd never have considered.I honestly don't know about him,I'll see Mask of Zorro and I'll tell you. You got me into thinking, now.I'll come up with a name and I'll let you know my opinion soon!

Well, last rumor around the iMDb boards is that Denzel Washington might be Harvey Dent/Two-Face.If it is true, I have mixed feelings about this.Denzel is a great actor, but one of my biggest complaints in B89 was that Dent was black(not a racist, just wanting some faith in the comics).I've heard people say that in the early comics he was black, but I know that in the Kark Knight comics,he's white. What do you think?
