"A special preview of this summer's "Batman Begins" movie will air during the 90-minute season finale of Smallville on May 18.

Two DC Comics legends, Clark Kent and Batman, will unite on Wednesday, May 18 (8:00 p.m. ET) as The WB presents the world premiere of an exclusive eight-minute special footage preview of the highly anticipated theatrical release BATMAN BEGINS, which will air within the 90-minute presentation of the season finale of the network's hit drama, SMALLVILLE.

“This is a great night for fans of the two most popular superheroes in the history of American Pop Culture,” said David Janollari, President of Entertainment at The WB. “Fans of SMALLVILLE will not want to miss this special extended version of what will be the series’ best-ever season finale. Broadcasting exclusive footage of the summer's most anticipated feature film, BATMAN BEGINS, makes this a very exciting night for us and a natural fit for the fans of SMALLVILLE.”

SMALLVILLE'S 90-minute season finale is packed with murder, betrayal and an unforgettable graduation day for all.

“Superman and Batman have always been inextricably linked to each other, so it seems fitting that a show chronicling the Man of Steel's youth give you the first look at the birth of the Dark Knight,” said Al Gough, executive producer, SMALLVILLE. “Christopher Nolan is an incredibly talented filmmaker and we couldn't be more excited and honored to have our season finale complimented with exclusive footage from Batman Begins.”

BATMAN BEGINS, which opens in theaters on Friday, June 17, explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force of good in Gotham. The film stars Christian Bale as Batman, along with Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy, Tom Wilkinson, Rutger Hauer, Ken Watanabe and Morgan Freeman.

A Warner Bros. Pictures release, BATMAN BEGINS is directed by Christopher Nolan and produced by Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Larry Franco. The screenplay is by Christopher Nolan and David S. This really is excellent news, although I wonder if this will be one whole scene, part of one or maybe a montage/ super trailer.

With this being less than one month away, some might think we'd have the final trailer by now.

I'm wondering if it is going to be simply movie footage, or also a behind the scenes like special...

If it is purely movie footage, I wonder how the hell that will work. I can't see them simply showing off 8 minutes of footage from Batman on T.V...Maybe it will be broken down into 2 minute spaces in between breaks on Smallville?

Anyway, if it is somehow the 8 minutes all straight from the movie, it's going to probably be that preview that was shown at the different Wizard Cons or whatever, that ended with Batman, burning, flying out of the window.

Just got finished watching Smallville, and they had a promo (nothing new) saying it was a 10 minute preview!

It seems unreal that this movie is a month away, and that their is going to be a ten minute preview next week. Everything is tieing in together. I remember when everyone was reporting Hugh Dancy as the new Batman in Batman: The Intimidation Game

Man Australia sucks alot some times, people joke how 3rd world we are. (But it alot of things i thing we are)

We had Smallville first season that aired a few years ago was pretty cool, then second season aired and halfway threw bang, nothing more.

I guess i'm going to be one of the few who hopes some tapes it and puts it on the net.

I'm really looking forward to the entire training segment of the story. I can't see any other actor play Ducard; Neeson owns this role. And those lines...perfect.

God, seeing all those scenes come off the page from the script, and form into what we see here...it's amazing...just amazing...I can't believe this film is actually a reality.

One question though: What does Neeson say when he says "You know how to fight six men, we can teach you to ******** six hundred?"

What's the bleeped out word? Bring aid? Brigade? WTF?
